Become a certified trainer

GPBALANCE is a method created by Gustavo Ponce based on traditional yoga, honoring the Indian philosophical heritage, while offering a modern and concrete method. This hormonal yoga technique will allow you to restore your vitality and naturally rebalance your hormonal health and/or that of your students/patients.

Yoga teachers, therapists, medical or paramedical professionals, etc., you are all welcome. Your motivation is essential!

Duration

The duration of your apprenticeship will therefore depend on your initial training in the practice of yoga but also in the theoretical foundations essential to the understanding and adequate transmission of yoga in general and GPBALANCE in particular.

At the end of the first 50-hour module, if you consider yourself prepared, you can take an assessment which will consist of a theoretical exam and a practical exam. If Gustavo and his team consider that you have the level of theoretical and technical knowledge, you can start giving lessons as a junior teacher in practice while continuing your training.

Completing the first 50-hour module does not guarantee being able to teach as a junior teacher in practice, but it does enable people who, due to their previous training, dedication during the course, study time and skills in communication, can start sharing GPBALANCE while they continue to train.

Skills

This training is designed to give you and/or validate your fundamental skills in the following areas:

  • Asana practice
  • Pranayam
  • Philosophy and history of yoga
  • Anatomy and physiology (including the endocrine system)
  • Subtle anatomy

The training will teach you to be benevolent with your body and your mind, precise and attentive in your relationship to the body, focused on your breathing, concerned about others as well as yourself.

Practice

The practical part of the training is generally organized in sessions of 50 hours over 7 days. Your attendance at 2 sessions, or 100 hours of practical training is essential to successfully complete your learning and validate your training.

During each of these 2 modules, you will study the complete series in a general way and delve into the theoretical aspects of the 5 sections according to the following modalities:

The alpha module will focus on sections 1, 3 and 5 and the beta module on sections 2 and 4. The 2 modules are specifically identified in the programming proposed on the website and in the various media.

Therefore, there is no imposed order to participate in the 2 modules, but both are mandatory. You can organize your learning according to your availability and the proposed dates for these 2 modules. The 2 modules will be specifically identified in the programming proposed on the website and in the various media.

As soon as the 7 days made up of a training module have been completed, you are asked to practice, study and deepen the practical and theoretical aspects set out in the course. You will have at your disposal, as soon as your 50-hour course is finished, the theoretical material and an essential bibliography, which will serve as a basis for this learning. This material will be enriched progressively by our care and will be available unlimited. You will therefore have a regular and very accessible follow-up to support your learning. The entire teaching team will be readily available to help you and answer your questions throughout your preparation.

There is no time limit required between the different sessions you wish to participate in, nor the time at which you wish to be assessed. You can accumulate your training hours by attending the various GPBALANCE events offered worldwide.

Face-to-face course

Each session will systematically and progressively address the 5 sections that make up the GPBALANCE series. The whole series uses different techniques and concepts that we will see in detail throughout the teaching of the 2 modules:

  • Asanas
  • Mudras, especially kechari Mudra (used throughout the practice)
  • Kriyas
  • Bandhas (very frequently used during practice)
  • Chakras and Prana
  • Visualization and concentration (very frequently used during practice)
  • Meditation
  • Neo-Tummo

The 5 sections of GPBALANCE:

  1. Study of different breathing and postural techniques: Kaya Stairyam Sankalpa, Bija Mantras, Prana Vidya, Kapalabhati, Bhastrika 1, Bhastrika 2. These techniques work on stillness, stability and concentration of body and mind as well as the channeling of energy.

  2. Preparatory work of simple postures lying on the back, accompanied by visualizations and the various breathing techniques studied in the previous section, essentially makes it possible to mobilize energy at the level of the pelvic region.

  3. Work of standing postures whose primary objective is to strengthen the flexibility, strength, balance and agility of our whole body, it also makes it possible to mobilize energy throughout the body.

  4. In this section, the focus is on pressing the pubis to the ground and strengthening the core area of the body as well as the abdominal area. We will also perform a series of inverted postures.

  5. This last seated section will cover different techniques such as Uddiyana Bandha, Agnisara Dhauti, Nauli, Ashwini Mudra, Nadi Shodhana Pranayama. The essential objective of these techniques being to achieve a rebalancing of the hormonal system in a more intense way than during the various techniques and asanas proposed in the previous sections. They also help to cleanse and lighten the body of functional obstacles caused largely by stress. We end this last section of the practice with a brief contemplation (which includes your last Sankalpa), Neo-Tummo and Yoga Nidra.

Theory

The working documents address, among others, the following topics:

  • Endocrine system
  • Breathing
  • Pelvic floor
  • Pineal gland
  • Neo-Tummo
  • Vagus nerve
  • Bolt Score
  • Thyroid

You also gain access to a bibliographic list of yoga essentials to obtain as well as the GPBALANCE books already published, of which you will have access to the PDF version (book 10: The method and book 4: Breathing).

When you register, you must complete a health questionnaire, which will help you assess your health and monitor its progress as you incorporate the practice of GPBALANCE into your daily routine. This questionnaire will also allow us to compile basic information on the symptoms observed among the students and to follow their evolution through statistical tools that we will share with you.

These tools will allow you to communicate concretely on the method and will facilitate the promotion of your courses if you are a teacher.

You also learn a lot by teaching: so you can start teaching in private lessons or in small groups in order to familiarize yourself with the teaching of practice. You will be asked to write a report where you will note the changes perceived in yourself and in your students.

Evaluation

No evaluation will be required at the end of the 100 hours of training for yoga teachers or those who justify adequate practice and transmission capacity.

For the others, without previous experience, but who decide to dedicate themselves to teaching, the conditions are as follows:

  • The practical and theoretical training will end with the partial teaching of the series and will be evaluated by Gustavo or one of the trainers during one of the sessions he will lead or exceptionally by video if you cannot be present.
  • This assessment will also include the theoretical aspects that you will have covered in class but also and more particularly those acquired thanks to the written materials that you will have for your personal work. There will be no deadline for this assessment. It can be programmed, depending on your learning pace.
  • At the end of this evaluation, you may be asked to complete additional training if your knowledge, whether practical or theoretical, is insufficient to safely transmit the GPBALANCE technique to your students.

We estimate that 6 months to a year is a reasonable period between the time you complete the 50 hours of initial training and the final evaluation. This time will allow you to perfect your practice, your teaching, your theoretical learning. It is necessary for the internalization and personal impregnation of the technique, its objectives, to feel the immediate and longer-term effects of the postures and techniques used in the series. This is the only way to be able to transmit it knowingly and effectively for the practitioner.

Diploma

Below please find a summary of the procedures for completing your training and validating your GPBALANCE teacher diploma which will allow you to be incorporated as a junior teacher of the method on the GPBALANCE website as well as on the various social networks facilitating the disclosure of this method (After your first 50 training sessions, you will also be registered on the GPBALANCE site for 1 year as a junior teacher in practice in order to help you promote your courses):

  1. Realization of the face-to-face practical course: a minimum of 100 hours (you can validate these hours in any country and access a validation of this course). You will also be able to validate these hours during the video lessons offered from time to time by Gustavo or in workshops led by professors who are ambassadors of the GPBALANCE method.

  2. Personal theoretical learning based on the didactic material that will be provided to you.

  3. Regular personal practice.

  4. Teaching to small groups during the training between the 2 modules.

  5. Face-to-face evaluation preferably (possibly remotely).

  6. Compulsory annual review of 1 to 2 days of your practical and theoretical knowledge in person or remotely to maintain the validity of the diploma and your presence in the list of GPBALANCE junior teachers. In this course, you will see all the updates of the method, both practical and theoretical.

At the end of this training, you will be able to teach hormonal yoga in a structured and creative way to your students, or to transmit to students/patients, the tools and techniques which will be transmitted to you by adapting them to their physical context and/or therapeutic.

All qualified GPBALANCE teachers benefit from the opportunity to train as GPBALANCE senior teachers. For this, they must follow an additional course of 100 additional hours after the evaluation of their file by one of the training managers from the GPBALANCE team.
